I love teaching workshops in Atlanta because the Southern hospitality is always amazing!  Plus teaching in Atlanta allows me the chance to invite my students in to my brother’s home and share what I am most passionate about ... my family, cooking and my art. In three days students will rediscover their passion for art, learn the basics pertaining to values and colors and master the techniques of painting with a palette knife! Plus I’ll treat you all to a wonderful home cooked gourmet dinner one night!

Our first day starts off with a unique painting demo in which I demonstrate the basic approach to painting with a palette knife.  This demo helps students understand the basic approach and guides them to success using a simple step by step approach.  We will focus on color mixing and understanding values. And ... you will love your completed painting ...

On the second day we will all paint together and enjoy another painting demo.  Today we will focus on using the palette knife to create visual interest and highlighting the focal point in your paintings. That evening we will all enjoy a home cooked meal at my brother’s home in Buckhead, provided by yours truly!

The third day will be spent painting your own palette knife painting (using inspirations photos) with one on one instruction at your easel.  We will also participate in a “musical easel” exercise that teaches you how to paint faster and how to quickly analyze and approach a painting.
