"Texture" 30 in 30 Challenge, Day Twenty-six Abstract Acrylic Painting, 30" x 40" Available and inspired by my favorite TV show Fixer Upper Texture. Oh how I love texture! Creating texture with a palette knife is fun and not too difficult. (Maybe I shouldn't say that and just pretend that it's really hard and takes forever.) Either way, creating texture with paint creates so much more depth to a painting and I highly encourage you all to try it!
Today was a great day. We had an awesome interview on the Artists Helping Artists show with the fabulous award winning oil painter Tony D'Amico. I also finalized my plans to work with an incredible non-profit organization called Dec My Room. Dec My Room is all about creating a healing place for young cancer patients during their hospital stays. They decorate patients rooms in the children's cancer ward specifically designed for their interests and favorite things! I am going to be donating and creating artwork for these special rooms at UCSF Hospital (in San Francisco). I can't wait to help out and start a new style of painting ... my new subject matter will be princesses, disney and everything that kids love! If you would like to find out more about this amazing organization you can visit their website here. They need volunteers, donations and lots of support. I feel so lucky to be able to help out such an incredible organization.
