"It's Time" 30 in 30 Challenge, Day Thirteen Abstract Acrylic Painting, 36" x 36" Available and inspired by my favorite TV show Fixer Upper That's right, it is time. It is time to focus on your art and take it to the next level. It is so easy to just kind of tinker along, painting when you want, whatever you want. So stop for a second and ask yourself, "What is the one thing I can do to really make me happy with my art?". Is it to sell more? Approach galleries? Paint more? Paint less? Who knows? Actually one person does know. And of course that is you. If you are interested in getting in to galleries then you should ... ... listen to today's Artists Helping Artists show. The show is called "Do Artists Need Galleries?". My co-host Margaret Sheldon interviewed quite a few gallery owners and we have lots of great information to share. You can listen to the podcast here.
But maybe that's not it. Maybe you need to get organized. Maybe you need to spend an hour a day on your computer sharing your art with others. Or perhaps you need to paint plein air more often. All you need to do is pick one thing and then do it. Why not make yourself happy? It will likely do a lot for your art too. My painting today was inspired by all of the fabulous clocks Joanna Gaines hangs in her beautifully remodeled homes. It's made of collage and acrylic paint and it was very fun to create. I wish it was a 48" square as that would be very fun size to. Perhaps I will paint bigger tomorrow ... Check out my new clock that I got for Christmas! It looks awesome in the beach house. You can find clocks like this at Antique Farmhouse. Their prices are so reasonable!
