Palette Knife Oil Workshop in IDAHO
Supply List

Click here to go to Dick Blick to find my class supply list. Select CA for state and Leslie Saeta Fine Art for school name. Then click on Leslie Saeta Palette Knife Painting Workshop Supply List.
Canvas Panels - One 12 x 12, one 11 x 14,  and two 6 x 6 canvas panels. (You can bring canvas panels in varying sizes to suit your taste - I suggest you bring sizes listed here.  I favor the square format but you are welcome to bring what you like!) Note: I like the Ampersand Gessoboards because they are smooth and work best with a palette knife. The linen ones do not work as well. Get the ones that are ¼” or less in thickness. You can find them at Dick Blick here. I don’t use stretched canvas. Please note, there are panels made by Ampersand that look very similar to the Gessoboards but some of them will dry your paint and not work! So be sure to get the Ampersand Gessoboards with the blue label.

Paint
This is an oil painting class, so you will need oil paint! Although I paint with water-soluble oils, most of you already own and should use oil based paints. I don’t want any of you to buy any unnecessary paints and there is no difference in application or appearance from oil based to water based oils. I do not recommend acrylics for this workshop. They dry too fast and you will be very frustrated with the class if you try to use acrylic paints. Trust me!Oil Paints (I use Winsor and Newton water soluble oils but any brand is ok)
Titanium White
Cad Yellow Med
Alizarin Crimson
Ultramarine Blue
Phthalo Green (yellow shade)
Sap Green

Acrylic Paint
You will need the following tubes of acrylic paint. Student grade is fine.
white - two medium or one large
black - one medium
ultramarine blue - one medium
red - one medium
medium yellow - one medium
green (hooker green or similar) - on medium

Your Painting Set-up
You will need a Floor Easel and a fold up stool (if needed). Your easel will need to be suitable for in-studio and plein air painting. You don't need a table or palette because these will be provided.

For workshops in Idaho, you will need a portable plein air easel and stool or chair, if needed.
