Hmmm ... The good news is that the dress was created for another unconventional challenge. The bad news? The dress wasn't voted off the show. In this episode the designers had to use cards from a Hallmark store as both as an inspiration for their looks and as their material. 

The designers got two minutes to raid the store for whatever they could throw into their bags. Most of the designers grabbed things so quickly, they didn't even know what they had. So back in the workroom, the designing of their outfits was tough!

Merline's design was made solely from gold, silver, and blue envelopes. Unlike the top four designs, her design leaves no imagination for the viewer: it is clearly made of just envelopes. She followed the rules of the challenge and secured herself a place in the next round. But the dress itself? Not one of my favorites. I like the painting much better!
