My eyes are bloodshot and my computer battery keeps dying. But the good news is, I launched my email marketing campaign that I have been hinting about for the past few weeks.
And I am jumping in the air with delight! Preparation took longer than I thought. Finding email addresses and putting together a master email list has taken me weeks. But now I have a few thousand good emails so I am thrilled. I also had to pre-write the templates for my emails. They are all similar but all different. I have one for interior designers in Southern California, interior designers in beach house cities and interior designers in Pasadena to name a few. But they are all all written and done. Hallelujah. I am limited to sending no more than 200 emails a day (gmail has the restriction) but that's ok. I have pre-scheduled 100 a day to be sent at 7:00am. for the next six weeks. Anymore than that and I don't think I would be able to keep up with the follow up. But if it gets too crazy I can just slow it down. No problem. The campaign won't be successful if I just send out one email. I have to follow up, respond to all emails and continue to reach out to everyone for as long as it takes. Of course, the campaign has to be personalized, professional and seem nothing like a mass email campaign. Hmmm. I am sure you are wondering "how can I do this?". Or "who would I send emails to?". Those are two great questions. So it is time you started coming up with the answers. Start thinking about your customers. Who are they? What "labels" or things do they have in common that will help you find more contacts just like them who will buy your art? You may be wondering if my campaign is working. So far the results are way beyond my expectations. I am thrilled. I have a 68% open rate and I already have leads, a store that is going to carry my art and potential sales and it's only day two. So I am happy. I just need to get out to my studio and paint ...

Congrats Leslie. So much goes on "behind the painting" people just don't realize. I think it's the difference between hobby and success. As much as consistency.

Why use Gmail instead of a program like mailchimp or constant contaact?
