Hanging Out in the Studio

It seems as if I have been living in my studio this week. I guess that's because technically I have been. My house currently has about 100 people in it as they are filming a Disney pilot. All week. I can't post any photos (confidentiality agreement) but trust me, it's a war zone in there. OMG.

My poor house.

My husband came the home the other night and found me in my studio, sitting in my new comfy chair, eating dinner and binge watching netflix. His comments was, "It looks like you moved in". Sadly, I have.

But I have to confess something. I like it in here. The heater works great, the light is awesome, my netflix account is up to date, and I know I am most creative when I am in here. Plus I have added a few things since I have "moved in". A warm blanket, my sewing machine, two more computers, a printer and a bunch of coffee mugs. The latter needs to head to the dishwasher.

I do need to head out and do my every-other-hour-walk-through-of-my-house to remind the 100 strangers in there that my house "is not just a rental". I do have the painters already booked this weekend (courtesy of Disney) as well as the cleaning company. We will see how it goes.

It looks like you got it organized post 30-30 just in time.
Cozy is good. The occasional Netflix binge is required to stitch body and soul together. I'm busy dashing about myself, I just got offered another hanging ( goodness the sounds odd) an 18' foot wall ) at Stevenson Memorial Hospital for the end of March. So I have to get up and at 'em myself.

Glad I'm not the only one who binges on videos. I, myself do Amazon Prime. Keeps me focus in the late afternoon when I'm painting. Anyway also wanted to thank you for coordinated the 30/30 challenge. It got me on a roll with pencil portraits.

Disney's in your house, did anyone tell Walt that, lol
Your studio looks all lined and ready to go with whatever comes to your mind that moment, organization has a lot to do with creativity.
I'm off this morning for classes with Kim Vanderhoek, such a great teacher and lovely lady.

I so wish you good luck. My apartment was used in two movies years ago in Manhattan. Because the first movie went so well, we were stupid and did it a second time. But we did make a much stiffer contract.

My husband was an actor in SAG and in the theater union whose acronym escapes me. But needless to say the second movie, was awful. For us both. The movie did badly as did our apartment. But the first we came out like a bandit.

As for living in the studio I think how grand. I would like to see more of the studio.

Take care. Tommy

I'm glad you posted this. I have only been to my studio a few times since moving, and this post inspired me to get back. I went last night and spent a couple of hours just getting things organized and re-doing my painting and other work stations. Next task (other than to spend some time painting) is adding a comfy chair.

I LOVE my studio - in it every day, miss it when I'm not. Have a great southeast window/light exposure, lots of storage and room to spread out. Need better foot rest - I'm very short - 4'10" - ankle swells sitting too long. I bought a child's amore and installed more shelving - great place to "hid" bulky items - large gift bags, tissue paper, and wood supplies - garden markers
