"Wintery Day"
30 in 30 Challenge, Day Twenty-three
Abstract Acrylic Painting, 36" x 36"
Available and inspired by my favorite TV show Fixer Upper
Ok, I am going to do it. The date is set for Tuesday January 31st at 6:00 pm PST, 9:00 pm EST. I will be in my studio for an hour, watching the show Fixer Upper live, while painting an abstract painting for the house featured on the show.  The entire experience will be broadcast on Facebook Live. And will it work? Um, I hope so.

Originally I had hoped to schedule the demo this week. But reality set in and I realized I needed a bit more time to prepare. It’s a new concept and I really excited. At least I think I am. Perhaps I am just a little bit crazy?

I have decided to prepare my canvas ahead of time by applying a base coat and additional paint to create some texture. (I will explain all of this on the Facebook Live show.) I am also going to use mediums to speed up the drying time of my acrylic paint. It's going to be really hard to finish a painting in an hour. But I am more concerned about how I am going to watch the Fixer Upper show live, paint a panting and also talk to you all and sound coherent. All at the same time. Hmmm. Keep your fingers crossed that it works.

Enough about my crazy idea. This painting (above) was finished a few days ago. (I cannot believe it is day twenty-three of the 30 in 30 Challenge.) It just reminds me of winter. It feels cool and dry to me. Even though I live in California it is winter here too. In fact we had nearly four inches of rain fall in Los Angeles yesterday. That’s crazy!

You'll do great! Don't forget to breathe. I know you are working in acrylics. Don't worry about them drying. Working wet into wet can create some interesting results. Roll with it!

Leslie, I'd LOVE to watch your Facebook Live program on Jan 30th, but, how do I connect to Facebook Live?
